Ubuntu partner ecosystem growth continues
Hear what our partners have to say.
A primary reason for Ubuntu’s success is an active, and growing ecosystem of partners that work with us to build cloud solutions. This is no accident. We recognize the importance of partner solutions, and have worked diligently to provide programs and support to ensure that an Ubuntu based solution has all the necessary infrastructure components, plus a wide selection of today’s leading scale out solutions. This provides clients with the choices they need, when building an OpenStack based solution, using Ubuntu in a public cloud, virtual machine or bare metal, for scale-out and web solutions.
The OpenStack Interoperability Lab (OIL) is one of the key programs which help Ubuntu and our partners grow a healthy ecosystem. Today, 28 partners have invested in the OIL program, which provides a test environment for their solutions in an OpenStack environment. These partners benefit from interoperability testing with products from each of the 28 vendors, helping to improve the experience for OpenStack end users everywhere.
Canonical also offers a Charm Partner Program, which is designed to assist partners with developing Charms, to ease deployment on public clouds, private clouds with OpenStack, virtual machines and bare metal. Charms are used by Juju, Canonical’s cloud orchestration tool, to simplify dev-ops and make the deployment of complex solutions easy.
