e-shelter and Canonical launch Joint Managed OpenStack Private Cloud


  • Quick, easy and cost-predictable way to get a fully functional OpenStack cloud
  • Built on Ubuntu OpenStack and using application management tools Juju and MaaS
  • Fully managed cloud service takes away the hassle of day to day IT operations

Frankfurt, Germany and London, U.K. 5th July, 2016 – e-shelter, leading data center operator in Europe and an NTT Communications group company, and Canonical announced today that they will collaborate to provide “Hosted BootStack”, an end to end to end solution including the design, implementation, and ongoing management of an OpenStack private cloud on top of fully dedicated hardware in e-shelter highly available, secure and scalable data centers with high power density.

Built on Ubuntu OpenStack, the world’s most popular OpenStack distribution and using Canonical’s application modelling service Juju as well as Canonical’s Bare Metal – as a Service (MaaS) which allows quick and easy provisioning, orchestration, and management of cloud resources. Clouds can be built on-premise or in dedicated colocation environments in e-shelter data centers.

In addition e-shelter will integrate its “e-connect” platform to offer carrier-neutral, flexible and scalable connectivity between all e-shelter locations and ensure multi-location end-to- end access solutions with all major cloud providers enabling customers to utilize the flexibility of hybrid and multi-cloud solutions.
